Vintage CREEM Magazine May, 1977 Queen on Cover, Blondie, Television, Iggy Pop ...This is one of the landmark issues for CREEM Magazine. It marked the beginning of the Susan Whitall era as Features Editor, as Lester Banks quit, and moved to NYC.
The magazine takes a sharp turn in the direction of covering the burgeoning NYC CBGB Punk/New Wave scene, with this issue featuring the first ever multi-page article (with amazing photos) of Blondie (Prior to Rolling Stone)
Also this issue highlights and emphasizes the greatness of the band Television with a feature s well as the rave review for their debt Album Marquee Moon.
Queen is the subject of the cover story, which is the Center of the magazine. Tons of amazing live photography, in the way that helped make CREEM America's Only Rock N Roll Magazine!
Joan Jett (then of the Runaways,) was one of the readers whose letters to the editor were published int his issue. (She was challenging one of the male writers to a fight : )
BOC is the CREEM Profile
IGGY POP LIVE Reviewed.
